Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Merle Solutions LLC ("Merle", "we", "us") handles information across merle.io and the software applications we build and operate, including Clip Factory (code-named Monies), our internal video clipping and publishing tool. We build small, focused software, and we collect as little as that software needs to work.
Information we collect
The merle.io website does not use analytics trackers, advertising cookies, or third-party marketing scripts. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send and use it only to respond.
Our applications store the data you put into them — for example, source videos, transcripts, and review decisions in Clip Factory. This data lives on infrastructure we control and is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Clip Factory and YouTube API Services
Clip Factory is a video pipeline operated by Merle for our own YouTube channel. It transcribes long-form video that we own or have documented rights to use, suggests short clips, and — only after a human reviews and approves each clip — uploads the approved clip to our own channel.
Clip Factory uses YouTube API Services. By using it, users also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What Google user data Clip Factory accesses
- Clip Factory requests a single OAuth scope, youtube.upload, which allows it to upload videos to the connected YouTube channel. It does not request or use any other scope, and it does not read, scrape, display, or redistribute YouTube content or account data.
- The only Google user data Clip Factory stores are the OAuth access and refresh tokens issued when the channel owner connects their account. Tokens are stored encrypted, on hardware we control, and are used solely to perform the uploads that a human has approved.
How that data is used and shared
- Tokens are used only to upload approved clips to the connected channel. Nothing is uploaded without explicit human review and approval.
- We do not sell, transfer, or disclose Google user data to anyone. No third party has access to it, and it is never used for advertising, profiling, or purposes unrelated to uploading.
- Clip Factory is an internal tool: its only users are Merle personnel publishing to a channel Merle controls.
Retention, deletion, and revocation
- Stored tokens are kept only while the channel connection is active. Disconnecting or reconnecting the channel in Clip Factory replaces or removes the stored tokens.
- You can revoke Clip Factory's access to a Google account at any time from Google's own security settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Revocation immediately invalidates the stored tokens.
- To request deletion of any data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.
Cookies
merle.io does not set tracking cookies. Our applications may use strictly functional cookies or local storage (for example, to keep you signed in). None are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes to how an application handles Google user data will be reflected here before they take effect.
